Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO)
The City of Milwaukee's Environmental Collaboration Office (ECO) strives to make Milwaukee a world class eco-city. ECO develops practical solutions that improve people's lives, the economy, and the environment. With a relatively small staff, ECO has an outsized impact through effective collaborations with the community.
ECO provides a fast-paced and collaborative work environment wherein each team member has a unique opportunity to blossom as a community leader and visibly improve the City. ECO emphasizes three qualities for all team members: project management, personal growth, and community leadership. The Environmental Sustainability Program Coordinator-Green Jobs Coordinator coordinates the workforce activities of a $12M urban forestry grant and coordinates workforce components on all ECO projects in coordination with Employ Milwaukee and the Office of Equity and Inclusion (OEI).
The Environmental Sustainability Program Coordinator-Green Jobs Coordinator works with the Environmental Sustainability Director, OEI, Employ Milwaukee, and local training providers to ensure that new federal and local investments in forestry, energy efficiency, renewable energy, green infrastructure, and related projects lead to the creation of good-paying jobs for Milwaukee residents.
The Environmental Sustainability Program Coordinator-Green Jobs Coordinator coordinates ECO's efforts to expand green jobs using strategies outlined in the Green Jobs Accelerator. The Green Jobs Accelerator builds excitement for green jobs and careers, clarifies training pathways, builds skills through subsidized training, identifies transitional jobs with career ladders, identifies community benefits agreements for public projects, and promotes small business development business development.
NOTE: The Environmental Sustainability Program Coordinator position is part of a promotional series. Depending upon future ECO vacancies, an Environmental Sustainability Program Coordinator who performs successfully may be considered for promotion to an Environmental Sustainability Program Manager position.

The current starting salary range (Pay Range 2IX) is $62,041-$86,854 annually, and the resident incentive starting salary for City of Milwaukee residents is $63,902-$89,460 annually. Appointment above the minimum is possible base upon level of experience and other qualifications and is subject to approval.

THE SELECTION PROCESS will be job related and will consist of one or more of the following: an evaluation of education, experience and/or responses to supplemental questions; a written or performance test, a structured interview, or other assessment methods. The Department of Employee Relations reserves the right to call only the most qualified candidates to structured interviews and performance examinations.
