Job Description
United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County (UWGMWC) is seeking a Donor & Agency Services Specialist to assist Pledge Processing staff in all areas of providing donor and agency customer service, as well as administrative support for additional Pledge Processing tasks during United Way’s annual fundraising campaign months of late August through December.  This is a seasonal, part-time position which begins in September 2019 and continues through January 2020. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):      
 
Donor & Agency Customer Service:
  • Maintain accurate agency contact information in United Way’s database through data entry, internet research and email/letter outreach.
  • Assist in researching donor and agency accounts to provide answers to phone and email inquiries.
  • Support online Agency Reports Portal users by responding to agency inquires with excellent customer service and strong communication skills.
  • Contact donors to resolve questions or issues about their United Way gift.
  • Assist in administration of agency mass email communications.
  • Escalate any donor or agency issues to supervisor.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of donor information.
      
Pledge Processing Support:
  • Support donor gift accuracy by researching agency designations to determine eligibility via database and internet search.
  • Ensure fulfillment of gifts by researching outstanding donor payments, compiling reports and providing to account managers.
  • Assist in additional quality assurance projects to ensure donor pledges and payments are correctly entered.
  • Assist with preparing bank deposits.
  • Scan and file donor documentation.
  • Escalate any pledge processing issues to lead Pledge Processing Assistant.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of donor information.
 
 
An effective Donor & Agency Services Specialist will consistently demonstrate:
  • Excellent, demonstrated customer service skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • An advanced Microsoft Excel skill level
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Word and internet research
  • Experience working with a donor or customer relationship management database
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage many projects at once, maintaining high efficiency and timeliness
 
 
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years of related experience in data entry and customer service
