Job Description

Milwaukee Health Services, Inc. (MHSI) is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC) that operates from two (2) sites: The Isaac Coggs Heritage Health Connection at 8200 W. Silver Spring Drive and the MLK Heritage Health Center at 2555 N. Martin Luther King Drive.MHSI offers a range of primary health care services including Medical, Dental, Behavioral, Women’s Health, Benefit Determination, and Pharmacy. FQHCs service everyone regardless of income, or third party coverage, and seek to provide high quality care in accessible locations and at convenient times. Our particular sites primarily target the residents of Milwaukee’s north side, but service patients countywide.  FQHCs are unique in their delivery of care, patient population and provision of services. FQHCs seek to provide quality care in an underserved area to the uninsured populations that would otherwise not have access to care.

POSITION SUMMARY:    Under the directions of the Human Resources Manager performs services related to coordinating training and staff development programs and recruitment functions.

 

POSITION-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  • Assists in organizational training and development efforts.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for assigned exempt and all nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees, writes and places advertisements; facilitate new-employee orientation.
  • Post job openings internally and externally.
  • Assist in hiring process by reviewing resumes and performing initial telephone interviews.
  • Coordinate interview schedules for hiring managers and candidates.
  • Assist applicants with appropriate application process.  File and maintain applications and resumes for future openings.
  • Assist in developing and administering human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Assist with employee retention program.
  • Assist in administration of HRIS administration.
  • As directed, participate in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations problems, anticipate problems whenever possible, and develop recommend, and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
  • Establish and maintain department records and reports.
  • Perform other job related duties, as may be assigned.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 
  • Education:     Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development.  Three plus years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources position. Special training in employment law, recruitment/retention, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations and training preferred
  • Experience:   Demonstrated leadership ability, strong analytical and planning skills. Ability to defuse and negotiate employee/supervisor problems and grievances.
