About the role

The Contract Compliance Sr. Specialist is a professional and a member of the Law Department with key knowledge of both our business and client base and possesses a full understanding of company agreements, risk tolerances, contract approval processes, associated addenda/risk and contract maintenance. This position will also lead the effort in implementing and supporting the contract process and accountability standards associated with the administration, drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and maintaining contracts and administration documentation and all documents throughout the life cycle of the customer or vendor relationship including the assessment of a potential opportunity, compiling terms and conditions, and routine change management activities such as confidentiality agreements, amendments, assignments, and renewal agreements. The successful candidate will be a sharp, energetic, organized, and focused individual who is motivated to get results - one who possesses the highest levels of integrity at all times.

Job Location: This position will be working out of our Morristown, NJ Headquarter office.

Schedule: Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office 2 days from home)

Contract Compliance Sr. Specialist will:

  • Prepare, oversee, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, bidding procedures, and other requirements for an array of contracts for various transactions i.e.: business contracts, NDAs, Consulting Agreements and the like;
  • Contribute to the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts and other legal agreements to ensure they meet legal requirements, mitigate risk and align with company goals;
  • Respond to requests for information, documents, and status of file/matter in timely manner;
  • Maintain records - life of contract review from start to finish;
  • Act as a point of contact for customers, clients, partners, and internal employees;
  • Identify areas where compliance standards aren't being met and help to improve organizational procedures;
  • Remain flexible on taking on more responsibilities in different areas of the legal department;
  • Train and onboard new environmental services sales team and support members, including explaining contract process, key terms and conditions, organizational objectives and acceptable risks;
  • Assess risk and advise arm sales team with talking points to assist in negotiating terms and limits with customers;
  • Work directly with department leads to review, negotiate and finalize company-wide or non-standard vendor/customer contracts;
  • Develop contract process;
  • Oversee and manage current form contracts;
  • Prioritize and manages activities effectively to meet commitments and schedules; consistently meeting deadlines;
  • Assist when needed in various legal projects, document management, litigation, internal audits, form contract updates; maintenance of various databases, due diligence projects, training and presentations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience preparing, reviewing and negotiating legal documents (Paralegal Certificate preferred);
  • B.S./B.A. Business Administration, Operations;
  • Experience collaborating with sales and legal teams on contract negotiations;
  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Proven analytical and research skills;
  • Strong time management, planning and organizational skills;
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and maintain calendar/tickler system;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment shifting priorities effectively and act with a sense of urgency;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially via telephone;
  • Strong PC skills, including experience using MS Office and MS Outlook;
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to excellence;
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality.
