***This multi-site float position is a 0.5 FTE that will float between Froedtert Health's 3 hospitals, both in the acute care and outpatient locations. Floating will occur day to day, not within the same day.

  • This speech pathologist will have acute care experience and the ability to perform video swallow studies.
  • The speech pathologist must be flexible and able to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
  • This position will cover caseloads for multiple therapists and will need to adapt to various work styles.

Job Summary:

The Speech/Language Pathologist II provides comprehensive speech therapy services to the patient by assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care and treatment programs. The therapist participates in varied Rehabilitation Services department activities designed to enhance patient care and programs. A Speech/Language Pathologist II demonstrates advanced evaluation and treatment skills and is involved in program development, staff education, student supervision. Also demonstrates emerging leadership skills and mentors department staff. Demonstrates advanced evaluation and treatment skills and has ability work in any department or location assigned based on rehab needs. Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of two years of clinical experience meeting requirements of Level I responsibilities as determined by interview and assessment.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Master's degree in Speech Pathology is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Must be proficient at all SLP level 1 competencies, maintain productivity level and have the potential to take on additional responsibilities. Competence in Video Swallow Studies is required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

State of Wisconsin license in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) as awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required or must be obtained within 18 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
