Job Description

The Senior Domestic Logistics Analyst reports to the Manager of Logistics - Domestic Transportation and will be responsible for sourcing and bids related to LTL, truckload, parcel, expedite, and intermodal transportation modes. The Senior Domestic Logistics Analyst will assist with transportation operations, financial projections, ad-hoc freight analytics, freight audit and payment, and development of freight metrics. This role will also be responsible for understanding and monitoring all pricing characteristics for all domestic modes of transportation (LTL, FTL, parcel, expedite, and intermodal).

This position will be based at Zurn Elkay's corporate headquarters in Milwaukee, WI.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support and facilitateformal RFPs for all domestic transportation modes (LTL, truckload, parcel, expedite, etc.)
  • Support of new TMS (Transportation Management System) implementation by developing skills to become SME (Subject Matter Expert)
  • New carrier analysis and implementation
  • Ad-hoc projects including, but not limited to, distribution channel evaluation, mode optimization, and carrier compliance.
  • Manage / update TMS software to ensure compliance to contracted rates. Company-wide use of TMS to determine the most economical and cost-effective modes of transportation.
  • Collaborate with internal Finance department to ensure compliance to budget.
  • Negotiate/coordinate costs associated, and post changes as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required - Degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in a Logistics, Operations or Analytics related position.
  • Ability to review contracts and verify terms and conditions
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow standard operation procedures with little to no oversight
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office skills required with strong Excel skills preferred
  • Visual analytics / Systems (Tableau, SAP, TMS, Freight payment) knowledgepreferred
