Position Description:

Responsible for all localized activities of the transfer, storage, and disposal facility (TSDF) including health & safety, compliance, staffing, waste management and profit & loss. Accountable for the obtainment of optimum efficiency and economy of all Facility operations. Expected to maximize profits by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate leadership.

Job Duties

  • Set clear expectations, lead, coordinate, train, and direct plant supervisors on initiatives from Corporate and Divisional leaders

  • Coordinate and communicate daily with the local employee base any items of concern as they might relate to the following:

  • Safety

  • Compliance with Air, Part B RCRA & any other applicable permits, and all other Regulatory Authorities

  • Work with EHS manager on a continual basis to ensure that the local site is following corporate and site-specific health & safety and compliance protocols

  • Cleanliness of all plant property and equipment

  • Mange processing of hazardous and non-hazardous wastes including but not limited to fuel blending, lab pack processing, chemical treatment, consolidation, bulking, and blending according to RCRA, DOT, customer restrictions and the most cost-effective disposal site(s).

  • Efficient unloading practices

  • Efficient and effective treatment practices/work standards.

  • Identify, eliminate, or improve Processing bottlenecks

  • Safe and efficient Laboratory practices

  • Load rejection Policy

  • SWPPP and SPCC

  • Daily, Weekly, Monthly 'Non-Negotiable' inspection checklists

  • Completion of Waste Analyzer

  • Ensuring that all Preventative Maintenance and Internal Audit obligations are consistently met.

  • Analyze Facility budget requests, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and identify areas in which cost reductions and program improvements can be made.

  • Directly Influence work schedules and assignment of specific duties.

  • Establish and implement policies, goals objectives and procedures, conferring with organization officials as necessary.

  • Directly supervise Facility employees; carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Personnel responsibilities consist of appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and conflict resolution; determining staffing requirements, interviewing, hiring and training new employees.

  • Pursue all unidentified Facility growth opportunities.

Requirements:

  • BA or equivalent plus; or ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in industry.

  • Office Suite Software - Microsoft Office

  • Ability to sit, stand and drive for long periods of time.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Must be responsible, well organized and exhibit great Safety Awareness; identify and correct conditions that effect employee and client safety.

  • Integrity - Job requires being honest and ethical.

  • Leadership - Job requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer perspective and direction.
