Job Description
Are you a compassionate person looking to express yourself in an impactful way gaining satisfaction and growth by providing health care support for others? Are you interested in increasing your communication skills by interacting in positive talk that can change the direction in people’s lives? Now is the opportunity to work with a young man that is prepared to move towards his potential with your assistance. The young man’s name is Michael and he sustained a traumatic brain injury 16 yrs ago when he was in his 20’s. He is quite clever and has an uncanny memory for dates and names. The injury has affected his frontal lobe where organizing and decision-making take place. Your organizational skill and ability to direct Michael towards positive decisions can leave a lasting impact for his future. Due to his condition, he will need assistance in and out of his wheelchair. Activities Michael enjoys are rock climbing, meditating, spending time in his faith, recovery meetings, music, and alternative therapies that include art and cranial sacral.

- Reliable and timely—being prompt provides a factor of comfort for Michael
- Physical aspects-must be able to facilitate transfers and assist with personal hygiene and restroom duties
- Be a good listener that can set personal boundaries as well as be an indicator for balancing Michael’s boundaries
- Be a learner-learn about brain injury and how it interacts on physical and psychological levels
- Create or research engaging activities
