Job Description
Position Title: Welding Fabricator

Wage: $25-$30/hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 6am-2:30pm

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Welding Fabricator for a company in Milwaukee, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity.

Welding Fabricator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist the plant Engineer with their duties as required
- Perform the function of Maintenance mechanic "B" as needed
- Complete work assigned by Plant Engineer, prioritizing work according to schedule
- Perform operations from the PM Program as assigned by the Plant Engineer
- Work from an assignment list provided by the Plant Engineer
- Rig and move heavy equipment and components for installation replacement and or repair
- Install and repair gas burners and controls
- Provide technical assistance to maintenance mechanic "B"
- Operate forklifts
- Understand the safety and process aspects of performing maintenance operations
- Receive and act on reports of equipment malfunction by either repairing immediately if the repair is of an urgent nature or the repair can be made quickly or reporting the problem to the Plant Engineer for proper scheduling
- Operate electrical testing equipment, including VOM, Ammeter, continuity tester, and instrument calibrator
- Cut steel and alloy components with Oxy-Aceteleno torch or electric arc
- Operate an oxygen analyzer and dew pointer
- Use basic hand and power tools
- Consult equipment instructions manuals for troubleshooting and repair information
- Work with minimal supervision
- Advise Plant Engineer of low stocks and upcoming needs of parts and supplies
- Safely start and shut down all equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and systems
- Obey all safety rules and regulations
- Perform any other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time by the Plant Engineer

Welding Fabricator Requirements:
- Drug screen
- Background check
- Ability to utilize electrical wiring skills in cutting, threading, and bending electrical conduct, installing instrumentation and controls, modifying, or building control panels
- Ability to install, repair, and revise threaded process piping up to 2" in diameter PVC piping up to 4" and low-pressure welding pip up to 4"
- Ability to fabricate and install components of steel and heat resisting alloys utilizing welding skills
- Ability to calibrate instruments thermocouples and control systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components and systems
