Overview

You are a motivated Cloud Operations Developer who is passionate about supporting the management and operations of highly resilient, scalable, and secure Enterprise Cloud Platforms in a highly regulated financial institution. You will be working within a collaborative cross-functional team, building, maintaining, and supporting multiple environments running in public and private clouds. You'll be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on operational efficiency and customer support.

The Cloud Operations Developer will need to be proficient across multiple Azure and/or AWS services and versatile to provide support across Cloud Platform, Operations, DevOps, and Security functions within this team. Members of this team will share on-call rotation duties to cover escalations and emergency fixes.

This role is remote eligible.


Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance
  • Performing daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of cloud infrastructure, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups, live data feeds, and batch processing
  • Develop Infrastructure as Code Modules and Scripts to automate operational functions and processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational toil
  • Triaging all support requests and performing preliminary investigation for all reported issues
  • Write knowledge base articles and runbooks for commonly asked questions or frequently reported issues
  • Sending internal and external communications for scheduled maintenance and high-priority major incidents
  • Perform tasks with competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs
  • Create, maintain and share technical documentation used by engineers and other team members
  • Be able to adapt seamlessly to the organization and the customers we serve, demonstrate the ability to learn new skills and technology, and actively take part in ongoing training

The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally
$86,182 to $149

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance

Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree

Preferred Area of Study: Computer Science

Preferred Skills:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in designing and developing complex distributed IT solutions (e.g. cloud, distributed systems or high-performance computing experience)
  • 3+ years' experience in operations management tools. Alerting & Monitoring, Provisioning & Deployment, Configuration Management, and Source Control, etc.
  • Demonstrable knowledge around infrastructure as code and common frameworks including Terraform
  • Demonstrable skillset in scripting languages, e.g. Bash, PowerShell Demonstrable skillset in programming languages, preferably JavaScript or Python
  • Demonstrable skills in Cloud Security, including incident response framework, shared security model, and architecture best practices for reducing attack surface
  • Demonstrable skill in Cloud Networking with a proven skillset in latest AWS/Azure networking services and ability to create advanced routing and interconnectivity in a multi account strategy
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience with Dockers, Kubernetes, and Containerization a plus
  • Cloud Certifications in SysOps/DevOps Domain Preferred - Professional Certifications a plus
