Job Description

Professional Services Group and Community Impact Programs is now hiring Public Benefits Advocates/Specialists to join our new Public Benefits team! PSG/CIP is a multi-service community-based social services organization that fulfills its mission of helping individuals and families achieve their greatest potential through dynamic, cost-effective, and innovative programming responsive to the needs of diverse communities.

As the Public Benefits Specialist, you will assist and advocate for individuals with disabilities, mental health diagnoses, and/or individuals who are 60 years of age or older with public benefits, housing, and customer issues. The Benefits Specialist coordinates outreach and education for assigned caseload of consumers, as well as service providers and professionals in the community. The Benefits Specialist will also acts as a consultant to other service providers and professionals.

LOCATION: Office is located in Kenosha, WI with local travel required to meet with clients, with mileage reimbursement. Client meetings may be scheduled at our office, at community centers, or within client homes. Must be able to meet in-person with clients in Kenosha County, WI.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

SALARY: $23.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid Driver's License, personal automobile insurance, and reliable transportation on a daily basis
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services is required
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health concerns, or individuals age 60 or greater
  • Experience working with public benefits is preferred
