Description

As a part of a diverse community of faculty and staff who represent many faith systems and worldviews, Marian University seeks a financial analyst to promote our Catholic Franciscan mission and identity by supporting the Finance and Accounting function of the University. This individual will provide financial and accounting review and analysis for various internal and external reporting projects. The financial analyst will work closely with other members of the finance and accounting team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively engage the Catholic Franciscan mission and identity of Marian University by modeling the Franciscan Sponsorship Values and honoring the legacy of the founding congregation through transformative education, unity in diversity, leadership through service, integrating faith and life, and institutional policies.
  • Accumulate data for financial reporting needs
  • Assist with various financial and accounting reporting projects
  • Analyze and evaluate financial projection models
  • Maintain records of external reporting submissions
  • Support the monthly financial close process by assisting with reporting and reconciliations
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the Controller and CFO
  • Work with internal customers on calculating Federal Indirect rate
  • Working with CFO/Controller on proformas on new programs and projects
  • Other duties assigned.

  • Ability to identify patterns and anomalies in financial reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issues
  • Meets department productivity standards

  • Assists to establish department measurements that align and support the accomplishment of the University's

strategic goals

  • Adheres to the department budget
