POSITION SUMMARY: A Nurse Apprentice assists with providing nursing care to residents as directed in the resident care plan and under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The Nurse Apprentice is authorized only to perform specific nursing functions from the Nevada State Board of Nursing's approved Apprentice Nurse skills list within the limits of their education, up to their skills and knowledge, and as verified by their nursing school program and the Director of Nursing Services (DNS). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Administers care to residents under the supervision of an RN. Care tasks are limited to the Nevada State Board of Nursing's approved Apprentice Nurse skills list as verified by their nursing school and the DNS. * Gathers resident information to share with the nursing team. Communicates observed changes in the resident's condition to charge nurse for assessment. * Provides routine check-ins with residents and promptly responds to call lights. * Assists residents with individual personal care needs such as grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, skin care, or other needs as required in the resident's care plan. * Performs tasks as assigned by the charge nurse, including but not limited to taking vital signs, capturing residents' weights, and collecting specimens. * Lifts, moves, and transfers residents using proper methods and lifting devices as required in the resident care plan. * Documents care and assistance provided to residents as required by company policy. * Informs their supervisor if any tasks requested are not within the scope of their education, skills, and knowledge as verified by their nursing program. * Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with patients in a healthcare or caregiving setting is preferred. Certification as Nursing Assistant preferred.
