Job Description:

The FX trader works with the foreign exchange sales group to price and execute client flows and hedge/manage the related market risks. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of FX trading experience at a large Swap Dealer institution on a flow desk. Must have a solid understanding of FX markets. Must understand the intricacies of FX spot, forward, swap and option products and have experience managing a portfolio of OTC FX transactions. Position is based in Cleveland, Chicago or New York Office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the FX sales teams to quote FX product prices and execute trades.
  • Communicate daily market color, economic conditions, and trade ideas to the FX salesforce.
  • Manage a portfolio of FX spot, forward, swap and option products.
  • Understand currency, credit and desk level FX risks and manage exposures within established limits.
  • Understand internal systems, processes, and execution platforms to execute the desk's established risk management practices.
  • Clearly communicate with the head of FX trading and senior management on FX issues.

Qualifications:

  • Sell-side FX flow trading experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of FX forward, swap and option products.
  • Strong understanding of FX swap dealer regulatory requirements with a focus on trading compliance and code of conduct (FX Global Code).
  • Strong understanding of FX risk management - manage inventory levels and exposures within established limits, manage stop/loss metrics, and PnL attribution.
  • Strong ability to accurately price and manage client flows and portfolio inventory.
  • Understand modern electronic FX execution markets.
  • Experience in trading and analyzing markets and managing FX risk.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship building skills.
  • Highly organized, disciplined and works well as a member of a trading team.
  • Quantitative skillset with strong attention to detail and risk management including understanding VaR, spot/forward/option exposures, and interest rate risk.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $110,000 to $139,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
