Project Engineer General Location: Houston, Texas, USA Reporting to: E&C Engineering Manager (or Head of Engineering) Travel: Potential short assignments on Project sites.

Missions and Responsibilities

As a Project Engineer, you will be assigned on projects, reporting to the Project Manager / Director (PM) and responsible for the technical coordination of the engineering effort related to assigned project(s). The Project Engineer is responsible for:

  • Promoting the safety within the company; meeting or exceeding the company's safety standards

  • Coordinating the assigned engineering resources, either with local and/or with remote international team members and peers

  • Managing interfaces between disciplines as well as engineering contractors

  • Leading weekly meetings with different engineering parties; issuing minutes of meetings; and following up on action items

  • Demonstrating an interdisciplinary mindset including but not limited to Civil, Structural, Mechanical (static and rotating), Piping, Process, Process Control, Systems, Electrical and Instrumentation engineering

  • Ensuring delivery of engineering deliverables as per project schedule; informing the project scheduler and PM of the status of each deliverable, risk of delays and recovery plans; weekly expediting of the different engineering disciplines

  • Ensuring the quality of the deliverables; verifying that the engineering deliverables and Basis of Design are compliant with the E&C Global standards and with the US and local codes

  • Supporting the Proposal team and supporting the review of the Basis of Design

  • Estimating and controlling engineering hours assigned to the project tasks

  • Preparing the Technical Requisition Summary for procurement and leading the technical clarifications with material/equipment suppliers

  • Supporting the procurement team in expediting the Vendor Documentation Records and providing technical support and review during the manufacturing period

  • Managing a log of pending actions / open topics (from minutes)

  • Implementing Document Control practices and tools (Alair, G-drive) for technical project documents

  • Maintaining a record of engineering capitalization points

  • Ensuring the project execution plan is followed and assist in maintaining and updating the plan

  • Identifying, tracking and mitigating the impact of any changes generated after the signature of the project; managing the approval of these changes and expediting resolution

  • Supporting Design Reviews according to Air Liquide standards, including inviting, planning and issuing meeting minute

  • Interfacing with Design Authorities and the Overall Design Authority

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science (Chemical or Mechanical Engineering preferred)

  • 2-5 years experience in Project Engineering Role within related Industrial Design or Operations

  • Proficient with Google workspace and MS Office

  • Ability to travel to various job sites on short notice Preferred

  • Basic knowledge of Engineering in all disciplines and process

  • Experience in Project Management and Customer relationships

  • Site experience (Construction or Commissioning)

  • Second language (French or German)
