IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Survey Field Technician in our Gurnee, IL office. As a Survey Field Technician you will be responsible for participation in daily operations of all field activities including boundary, topographic and as built surveys, and construction layout.

Some key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Operation of GPS equipment, total stations, levels, data collectors and other survey equipment
  • Perform field work for land surveying scopes of work including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, topography surveys and performing routine survey/engineering computations for various project types
  • Transfer files between data collectors and internal company project folders
  • Maintain professional and productive working relationships with all clients and coworkers
  • Operate a company vehicle
  • Observe safety and security procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:

  • Basic knowledge of survey principles and survey computations covering both plane and spherical geometry
  • Problem solving techniques
  • Possesses basic oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to professionally represent IMEG
  • Travel may be required
  • Valid driver's license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier

Education and experience requirements are:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minor in Land Surveying or Associates Degree in Land Surveying preferred
  • 0-3 years of experience
