This remote role is not tightly linked to a physical location and provides flexibility in where, when and how you accomplish your work.Remote employees are expected to have a dedicated, quiet and distraction-free work space and an internet connection that's sufficient for completing their job remotely.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing a portion of Harley-Davidson trademark portfolio (both domestic and international) global search and clearance, and providing trademark related guidance, direction and support primarily to internal stakeholders of Harley-Davidson, Inc. This position will also provide legal support and guidance to the Harley-Davidson apparel and licensing business unit. In addition, this position will provide guidance to legal support staff, manage outside counsel, implement tactics, policies and procedures, and represent the Company with external stakeholders. This position will report to Harley-Davidson's Assistant General Counsel, Trademarks.

Job Responsibilities

* Administer the delivery of legal services in in the trademark practice area and in support of the apparel and licensing business unit.
*Provide legal counsel in support of the acquisition, clearance, adoption, use, licensing, and enforcement of trademarks and other related intellectual property.
*Review, revise, and negotiate various trademark related agreements, including licensing agreements and settlement agreements.
*Develop and cultivate cooperative, productive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
*Take a leadership role to actively support the Legal Department quality initiatives.
*Seek continuous improvement opportunities within scope of responsibility.
*Track legal trends and make recommendations for continuous improvement as appropriate for Harley-Davidson.
*Prepare and implement policies and practices in response to legal and regulatory requirements.
*Prepare and deliver training regarding legal and regulatory requirements.
*Take on additional responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time to support Harley-Davidson's trademark-related work.
*Primarily a work from home position with occasional travel to offices in Wisconsin.

Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree Required
Education Specifications

* Bachelor's degree Required.

* Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school Required.

* Qualified candidates will be licensed to practice law in the United States, amember in good standing with a State bar, and the ability to become a member of the Wisconsin State bar.

Experience Requirements

Required

* Typically requires 8 years of related experience with at least 5 of those years in a law firm and/or corporate legal department.
* Excellent contract drafting and contract negotiation skills and experience with multi-national trademark portfolios
* A high level of integrity, excellent judgment and analytical skills, and the ability to identify all relevant issues.
* Excellent decision making, problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills (including good listening and comprehension skills), and the ability to achieve positive outcomes through influence.
* The ability to lead and work well in a team environment.
* Organization, planning, and research skills.
* An ability to provide sound legal advice that is responsive to the business needs of Harley-Davidson, Inc. and its subsidiaries, as well as responds to clients' needs consistent with corporate strategies and objectives.
* An appreciation and awareness of the legal/business interface.
* An ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a dynamic and fast paced work environment.

The pay range shown represents the national average pay range for this role. Your pay may be more or less than the stated range and is dependent on your geographic location and level of experience.
