$3,000 sign-on bonus if you are an external applicant and have 6 months of sterile processing tech experience or are certified in sterile processing.

Position Summary/Essential Duties:

The Instrument Processing Technician role is responsible for performing quality assurance/maintenance for all automated processing equipment, ordering supplies, maintaining inventory volumes/expirations dates, receiving, sorting, decontaminating, sterilizing or high level disinfecting, labeling, packaging, preparing reusable medical devices for distribution, and tracking required/related data.

Specific job duties include:

* Performs quality assurance checks and maintenance for automated processing equipment as well as daily documentation in associated tracking logs.

* Maintains inventory volumes, expiration dates and orders supplies in a fiscally responsible manner.

* Maintains accurate logs for all related processing room requirements.

* Adheres to UH policies, UH HLD SOP, UH guidelines and national standards for processing.

* Identifies single-use equipment or equipment damage, pulls from circulation for use and communicates with service line.

* Performs leak testing and decontamination procedure including manual cleaning verifications.

* Prepares reusable equipment for high level disinfection or sterilization.

* Performs sterilization or high level disinfection according to manufacturer IFUs, national standards and UH policy.

* Sorts, labels, packages and inventories reusable equipment for distribution and chargeback totals.

* Participates as a productive member of Ambulatory Safety by attending meetings and supporting the department by being a team player.

* Maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, and co-workers.

Position floats to Minoff, Suburban, Landerbrook, Mentor and Westlake as needed
