Job Description

Leads operational work within Talent Acquisition (TA) to include recruitment transactions from job opening approval through the first day of employment. Ensures team is equipped with the right resources, tools and strategies to achieve organizational goals around candidate experience and time to start. Partners with all departments involved in pre-employment activities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seeks opportunities to implement innovative and creative methods to drive an exceptional candidate experience and a more advanced, efficient and cost-effective recruiting process.
  • Develops talent strategies to address needs and trends, proactively identify staffing requirements/recruiting gaps, and leads solution development by forecasting staffing needs and creating effective recruiting plans.
  • Oversees an effective, efficient, high-touch onboarding process that enhances the hiring experience and provides new hires with information they need when they need it. Ensures problems are addressed as quickly as they arise.
  • Responsible for partnerships with Advocate Aurora Occupational Health and external vendors to ensure cost-effective, high-tech/high-touch solutions are implemented to provide excellent service to the TA team and post-offer team members.
  • Utilizes analytics and quality audits to ensure compliance with expectations. Partners with peers if improvement needs are noted.
  • Partners with other human resource functional areas as well as services lines to ensure alignment of post-offer requirements and onboarding strategies.
  • Ensures post-offer process and onboarding is compliant with state, federal and regulatory agencies. Provides recommendations to adhere to Joint Commission and/or DNV standards.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations, especially in the area of employment law pertinent to the talent acquisition process, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
  • Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
  • Develops and recommends operating and capital budgets and controls expenditures within approved budget objectives.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to the organization's Code of Ethical Conduct and for ensuring that personal actions, and the actions of employees supervised, comply with the policies, regulations and laws applicable to the organization's business.


Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

  • None Required.


Education Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.


Experience Required:

  • Typically requires 7 years of experience in human resources. Includes 3 years of management experience in leading recruiting, human resources or service center teams.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and regulations that influence human resources, as well as related implications.
  • Resiliency and flexibility to deal with a rapidly changing and stressful environment.
  • Excellent listening and consulting skills. Ability to develop operational partnerships, assess complex hiring issues and needs, and deliver appropriate recruiting solutions across a multiple client portfolio.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including mentoring, coaching, training and holding others accountable.
  • Expertise in leading projects which include planning the life cycle of the project and identifying key project activities. Proven ability to develop sound proposals and successfully implement programs.
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced team environment. Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines, prioritize multiple demands, and identify/solve problems creatively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and function in a complex corporate system environment. Excellent communication skills to work effectively with a variety of candidates and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites or similar products as well as applicable human capital management/applicant tracking software.


Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
  • Exposed to a normal office environment.
  • This position requires travel so may be exposed to road and weather hazards.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift frequently throughout the workday.
