Job Brief

Execute, perform, complete, and implement laboratory procedures related to environmental permit requirements, product analysis and plant process evaluation.

What You'll Do

As the Laboratory Tech, you will execute, perform, complete, and implement laboratory procedures related to environmental permit requirements, product analysis and plant process evaluation. Other duties include:

  • Demonstrate and be committed to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations
  • Lives and fosters the Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) values
  • Works closely with the site leadership teams to ensure our business culture is driven by our company values
  • Supports BEx (continuous improvement) initiatives through active participation, including identification of efficiency and quality improvements in work processes and problem solving.
  • Perform all routine and non-routine chemical/physical tests using established test procedures for quality control and environmental/safety control
  • Achieve and maintain certification for Small Water System Operator Training.
  • Participate on behalf of the lab in USEPA National Standards for Water Proficiency Testing Studies
  • Determine validity of test results using established quality assurance techniques.
  • Obtain samples as needed from process and environment.
  • Complete all laboratory data management records and maintain electronic database.
  • Maintain stock inventory of required supplies and make up consumable reagents.
  • Make recommendations concerning laboratory equipment purchases.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school graduate or equivalent - AA Education in Chemistry or related discipline preferred.
  • Laboratory experience in wet chemistry and instrumental analytical techniques preferred.
  • Experience in industrial plant operations.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge required for instrument maintenance and repair.
  • Working knowledge of chemistry and chemical processes.
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
