Job Description

About This Role

Essential Job Functions

  • Assist with some levels of software and/or hardware designs; utilizing established engineering standards, to support training device modification requirements.
  • Assist with installing, verifying, and documentation of new/modified software/hardware designs.
  • Assess the requirements for modifications to the training device software and/or hardware to enhance realism or correct discrepancies.
  • Assist members of the Technical Services staff in resolving basic technical problems that require knowledge of specific hardware and/or software systems.
  • Assist with documenting operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Install and maintain necessary software and database updates to the simulation equipment navigational and FMS components.
  • Coordinate the continuing qualification and compliance of flight training devices as required.
  • Manage device evaluation reports and evaluation discrepancy status reports in accordance with authority requirements as required.
  • Present some necessary documentation for regulatory evaluations and modifications as required.
  • Support the timely resolution of discrepancies discovered during regulatory evaluations as required.
  • Maintain MQTGs and periodic Manual QTG test runs for flight training devices as required.
  • Assist with small sized projects.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering or aerospace field is preferred or minimum 2-year technical degree with a minimum 3 year of direct simulator experience and/or aerospace industry
  • Experience in aerodynamics and physics preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office utilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Good inter-personal and presentation skills with abilities to communicate professionally in both writing and verbally.
  • Familiar with analysis and implementation of real time flight simulation systems.
  • Operating Systems: UNIX, Linux, and / or MS Windows.
  • Languages: FORTRAN, C/C++, and / or Assembly.
  • Ability to perform some technical aspects, both hardware and software, in related field(s) of expertise with assistance.
  • Basic Project Management Skills and Strong Customer service attitude.

Location

  • The primary work location for this position is in Orlando, Florida
  • Minimal travel may be required (less than 10%).
