In your new role as a cyber security professional, you will protect our customer's most sensitive data and complex systems from all forms of threats including cyber-attacks, insider threats, rogue network devices, and malicious software and applications. You will work with a team of like-minded professionals to share and collaborate upon your ideas to improve the cybersecurity infrastructure, architecture, and configuration deployments. Your ideas and contributions will matter.

This is a contingent position based upon customer approval.

Responsibilities

Skyepoint Decisions is looking for a Systems Engineer to support the Department of State (DOS). A current TS security clearance is required for consideration. The candidate will be responsible for the development of Virtualization solutions utilizing VMWare and Cloud technologies. The candidate will research, analyze, evaluate and integrate as necessary new and emerging technologies in order to find ways to deliver a superior IT environment to the bureaus in a cost effective and secure manner. The candidate will support the continuing goal of incorporating these innovative technologies into the Department's equipment modernization program.

This position is on site 5 days a week M-F.

Description of Duties:

    Execute the duties and responsibilities as a member of the System Integrity Office (SIO).
  • Design, integrate, and deploy VMWare IT solutions.
  • Provide operational engineering support to enterprise-level solutions using virtual server hosting, backup solutions, off-site data replication and service level storage solutions.
  • Provision Virtual Machines and patches to the software and hardware hosting infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-call after-hours support rotation, responding to support calls after-hours/weekends/holidays/shutdowns.
  • Update system and process documentation and user guides as needed diagrams and SOPs as needed.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BS and 9+ years of related experience; Masters and 7+ years; Additional experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

  • Must be able to work on site.
  • VMware Experience:
    • VMWare and vSphere design, integration and deployment.

    • Knowledge or Training on VMware and ESX 6.0+ deployment, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Windows engineer or administrator experience (Active Directory, GPOs, and PowerShell scripting)

  • Experience leading system integration projects as the technical lead.

  • Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must have an active Top Secret clearance.

Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:

  • Cloud technologies with an emphasis on Azure or Amazon Web Services.
  • Active Directory experience, particularly in a large environment.
  • Strong scripting skills.
  • NetApp storage administration and operation experience.
  • LAN/WAN networking experience.
  • CommVault integration and administration experience.
  • Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.
  • DOS processes.
  • Linux engineer experience, namely on RedHat/RHEL.
  • Experience working on incorporating commercial mobile devices and other hardware products into a government infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of Windows SCCM and WSUS.
  • Knowledge of Splunk
  • Knowledge of Science Logic
  • Knowledge of Tenable
  • Knowledge of VPNs
