As a Program Manager I, you will manage the depth of the Department of Family and Community Medicine's Center for Healthy Communities and Research along with department-wide research service line and initiatives to ensure compliance with state, federal and Institutional Review Board regulations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement department research policies, procedures, and organizational tools.
  • Develop and manage division budget. Monitor the progress of studies and projects to ensure key deadlines are met including progress reports, funding applications, and project closures.
  • Track and reconcile faulty effort with grant funding and Personnel Activity Reports (PARs).
  • Review timelines for faculty research progress through monthly meetings. Disseminate goals and information promptly to promote achievement of timelines.
  • Work with Principal Investigators to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive databases and files related to projects.
  • Manage and assist with federally funded research projects including data management and analytical analysis of project related data.
  • Track department IRB protocols and reports in eBridge. Correspond with IRBs as needed.
  • Advise department study investigators, residents, medical students, and support staff on administrative and regulatory aspects of human subject research, including IRB applications.
  • Support the research program's development and advancement through contact with outside programs and funding review. Monitor requests for funding proposals to ensure accuracy of grant submissions and adherence to requirements.
  • Assists with pre-award applications. Reviews all proposals prior to submission and confirm compliance with sponsor guidelines, as well as with Institution policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates the grant process from development and submission to the post-award stage. Collaborate with the Grants and Contracts Office and the Office of Sponsored Programs on facilitation of these awards.
  • Work closely with other departments and external agencies to advance the department's research goals.
  • Serve as a program liaison and MCW representative to community stakeholders and partners for department research initiatives.
  • Ensure program data and progress are reported to funders and stakeholders.
  • Manage project submissions to the DFCM Quality Improvement committee to ensure longevity and reporting requirements are met.
  • Participate in appropriate committees relevant to the advancement of projects.
  • Coordinate the development of program materials including educational materials, marketing materials, websites, forms, reports, newsletters.
  • Manage and train program coordinators; develop and implement standardized expectations for staff reports; assess, monitor, and evaluate workload and performance.
  • Mentor and direct staff to achieve research goals. Provide supervision of staff support for department's annual research forum.
  • Collaborate with leadership to hire, train, and evaluate staff. Assist with employee onboarding process for the research team.

Knowledge - Skills - Abilities

  • Knowledge of project management, community engagement, data management, consultation, public health, documentation, and records management.
  • Data utilization and analytical analysis, complex problem solving, communication, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum education: Bachelor's degree

Minimum experience: 6 years' experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred education: Master's Degree
