Job Description

SUMMARY

The Data Governance Lead (DGL) is responsible for the data governance and data quality functions at Grady. The DGL owns the policies, procedures and technology for defining, maintaining, and adopting key metrics and critical data that leaders can trust to make clinical and business decisions. The DGL will work with individuals at all levels of the organization in defining a library of key metrics and a data catalog and will consult multiple data teams throughout the organization to support adoption of enterprise data governance and data quality tools and procedures. The DGL will lead data governance meetings, set standards for data quality, and measure enterprise assets against those standards. The DGL will work closely with other members of the data team to manage our data governance and data quality

applications.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads Grady data governance council meetings and support sessions in coordination with leadership in Information Services and across the organization.

Administers data governance, data quality, and data catalog technology

Leads education and adoption efforts for data governance and data quality procedures and technology for data users and data stewards

Consults business units and data teams on data governance and quality procedures and technology in order to ensure sufficient metadata is captured on all data assets

Aligns data governance and change control efforts by joining IT and operational change control meetings and setting up communication systems to notify impacted users of changes

Defines and implements standard support procedures for regular review of business definitions and critical data, including enforcing procedures to retire data assets no longer in use

Owns the centralized tracking, prioritization, and resolution of enterprise data quality issues that impact critical data. Coordinates and escalates as necessary with others involved.

Consults data teams on design practices to ensure alignment of governance efforts and new development

Remains up to date on data quality and data governance technology and industry best practices and recommends actions to IS leadership to promote value-add improvements to Grady's data operations and management

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Baccalaureate degree in Health Administration, Business Intelligence/Analytics, Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field or equivalent education, training and/or experience. Work experience may be substituted for education.

Required 3 years experience in IT, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Informatics, or Data Governance required, preferably in a Healthcare setting. 5 years experience preferred
3 years experience with Epic EHR Cogito tools preferred

Required:
o Certification in Informatica (Data Quality, Data Governance, Data Catalog) required within 12 months of hire
o Epic Cogito Project Manager required within 12 months of hire
* Preferred:
o Epic Clinical, Access, or Revenue Data Model Certification
o Tableau Desktop Specialist or Data Analyst Certification
o Exceptional communication skills, especially communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical audience
o Experience driving projects to completion with minimal supervision
o Excellent problem solving skills, e.g. ability to identify data quality issues, chart a critical path to recognition,
o Experience with business support software applications such as MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Visio, Visual SourceSafe, etc.) required
