Our Team

Cooley Dickinson Medical Group Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is where experienced, highly trained professionals advance the health of patients through specialized, expert treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal (bones, ligaments, muscles, tendons) problems. The practice's holistic approach to orthopedics involves coordination of personalized services within the practice and with other providers, to ensure a comprehensive range of care to people of all ages. We have combined expertise in all major orthopedic specialties, including sports medicine, orthopedic trauma, hand & upper extremities, joint replacement and spine care.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Practice Manager, the RN/LPN Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and improvement of all clinical operations and clinical staff within the practice.

While this role will oversee clinical staff at all 3 of our Orthopedic offices (West Hatfield, Amherst, and Greenfield), the Supervisor will predominantly be based out of our West Hatfield location (4 West Street West Hatfield, MA 01088). Mileage will be paid for travel to the other sites. Expected travel includes Amherst one day per week (Wednesday or Thursday) and Greenfield as needed.

Hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Plan and oversee nursing and medical assistant activities, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide support to clinicians and provide leadership for clinical problem solving.
  • In collaboration with the Practice Manager, supervise and coordinate staff regarding personnel issues, evaluations, scheduling, orientation, training, and staff development. Participate in performance evaluations, disciplinary action, hiring, termination, and similar actions. Resolve grievances within scope of authority and oversee other personnel issues. Investigate and resolve complaints and problems that have been referred to the incumbent.
  • Manage the flow of the clinic to ensure compliance, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
  • Contribute to improving quality & consistency of patient care & experience.
  • Routinely assist in patient care.
  • Maintain established organizational and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality improvement program, safety, infection control, compliance, and environmental standards.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program or accredited Registered Nursing program required
  • Current Massachusetts licensure as an LPN or RN required
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience as an LPN or RN required; physician office experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities required; previous supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated strong clinical, interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills required
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross required prior to hire
  • Orthopedics/Sports Medicine experience preferred
