Job Description

K.S.A.'s:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology (required).
  • Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) licensure. Must be maintained.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (AART) certification in Cardiac-Interventional Radiology is required within one year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certifications (required).
  • Minimum of two years of radiology, cardiac cath, or IR experience required.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills. Bilingual helpful.
  • Ability to make quick, accurate decisions on a daily basis. Ability to handle stress situations.
  • Operates a personal computer, including word, excel, and outlook. Operates department specific software as required.
  • Speaks clearly in person and via telephone. Records accurate messages. Ability to move up to 20 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to move patients and equipment on a regular basis.

Job Duties:

  • Performs cardiac catheterization and invasive electrophysiology procedures according to department standards.
  • Produces examinations that meet image quality standards. Submits images for physician interpretation.
  • Adheres to radiation safety procedures as described in the radiation safety program.
  • Verifies accuracy of patient demographic information, pertinent clinical diagnoses, and required technical results. Data must be entered accurately and in a timely manner to provide optimal patient care.
  • Verifies all technical data entry components are complete.
  • Meets age specific competency standards.
  • Performs quality control procedures and ensures image quality consistently meets standards.
  • Actively participates in a multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Works closely with care team to achieve positive outcomes and optimal patient flow.
  • Actively supports organizational changes.
  • Performs job functions while modeling service principles with customer service focus of innovation, service excellence, and teamwork to provide the highest quality care and service to our patients, families, co-workers, and others.
  • Abides by and maintains a working knowledge of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations patient safety goals and guidelines.
  • Other job functions as assigned.

Education

Associate's Degree (Required)

(BLS) - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
