The Staff Accountant's purpose is to provide the highest quality service and information to both internal and external stakeholders by maximizing the teams' potential to fulfill its responsibilities efficiently and effectively. The Staff Accountant must become an integral part of the Accounting Team primarily recording journal entries and completing consolidated reconciliations for designated companies. In addition to these primary responsibilities, the Staff Accountant will have the chance to learn and grow in other advanced areas of accounting such as budgeting, allocations, reporting and financial analysis.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Journal Entries and General Ledger Maintenance: Record and reconcile financial transactions accurately in the general ledger, including month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Bank Reconciliations: Conduct bank reconciliations and record ad hoc bank transactions daily to ensure the accuracy of cash balances and investigate discrepancies as needed.

  • Financial Reporting: Assists with the preparation and analysis of the financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the recording and analysis of annual budgets and forecasts.

  • Ad Hoc Reporting and Analysis: Generate customized reports and analysis as requested to provide insights into financial activity.

  • Software Proficiency: Utilize Workday accounting software and other financial tools effectively to streamline processes and maintain accurate records.

  • Continuing Professional Education: Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current with accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices.

  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and support as requested.


QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
  • On track to obtain CPA license
  • Proficient in Office 365, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Participated in an accounting internship in either a public or private company
  • Workday experience is a plus

  • Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and meet reporting requirements.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position is required to work onsite in the Alpharetta campus
  • This position does not require travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; write; type; stand; walk
