Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is a statewide, nonprofit association serving as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin's children, aged birth to eight. We are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association works to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning for Wisconsin's young children by promoting excellence in early education programs, supporting professionalism in the early childhood workforce, and calling for greater investment in quality early childcare. WECA's mission is to meet the professional needs of adults who nurture and teach Wisconsin's young children through a rich continuum of services.

The Wisconsin Early Education Shared Services Network (WEESSN) brings together family and center-based early care and education programs to pool resources and leverage economies of scale.

WECA is hiring a 2 Technical Consultants in the Southeastern childcare licensing region. This position will cover as needed the following counties: Waukesha, Milwaukee, Kenosha & Racine.

Being bilingual in English & Spanish is preferred, but not required, for this position.

Early Childhood Education experience is required.

We are seeking skilled personnel to deliver responsive licensing technical assistance. This person will be responsible for supporting individuals and organizations in obtaining a license to operate a childcare program. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Sharing information and resources on licensing rules with potential applicants.
  2. Reviewing proposed policies and procedures of potential applicants.
  3. Conducting site visits to the location of the childcare center, with additional visits as needed to ensure compliance with the initial licensing checklist.
  4. Discussing best business practices for operating a small business in the childcare industry.
  5. Offering technical assistance to applicants as they prepare initial licensing application materials.

The successful candidate will contribute to a seamless licensing process, supporting the development of childcare centers and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements.

Salary range for this position is $48,000 to $52,200 per year
