Job Description
Junior Staff Accountant
Full-time in-office position that performs a variety of administrative accounting functions to facilitate day-to-day and on-going support for the Finance department.
Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities.
  • Accounts Payable
    • Maintain the vendor file for completeness and accuracy updating information as necessary.
    • Post vendor invoices into ERP system (Syteline) for payment.
    • Ensure that invoices received agree with purchase orders and receiving reports prior to payment.  Resolve discrepancies with appropriate teams in a timely manner.
    • Statement Reviews – Ensure all data between vendors and ERP are aligned.
    • Process monthly sales / use tax return
    • Issue sales tax exemption forms and credit reference letters to vendors as necessary.
  • Accounts Receivable
    • Ensure customers are billed accurately
    • Monitor accounts receivable records and perform follow-up with customers to drive timely payments
    • Resolve any account / billing discrepancies in a timely manner
    • Participate in periodic aging reviews with senior management
    • Assist in data collection and analysis required for the cash flow forecast
  • General Ledger / Accounting close cycle
    • Assist with month end accounting close process including journal entries, account reconciliations, and reporting as needed.
  • Costing
    • Assist in collection and analysis of data required for product costing
Requirements and Skills
  • Must demonstrate a strong knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
  • Analytical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Office.
Education and Experience:
    • Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
    • Experience with Syteline or other similar ERP preferrable.
