Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Production Scheduler to be based in Dallas, TX plant. Reporting to the Production Manager, the Scheduler will be responsible for supporting Production by planning plant production based on stocking levels, maintaining production schedules, tracking production, and reviewing any factors affecting schedules.

What you'll do:

Production Scheduler responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage the production schedule based on targeted inventory levels and customer demand with input from Sales and Operations.
  • Coordinate and work with all involved departments and external customers to exceed the company departmental and customer's goals and objectives. Monitor and evaluate inventory needs of raw materials, packaging materials and supplies required for production orders.
  • Monitor and adjust raw material min/max levels as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and production efficiency goals.
  • Backstop the master planning process and the Production Scheduling Supervisor's daily and weekly planning activities.
  • Reconcile inventory variances. Manage multiple work activities and frequently changing priorities.
  • Monitor and analyze production performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Develop relevant performance metrics, monitor performance, and issue monthly reports.
  • Maintain reports to reflect scheduling methods, support performance and process procedures. Review output level to established target levels and production compliance, monitor, and report shortages and make management aware of any potential shortages.
  • Communicate production schedules and changes to relevant stakeholders.
  • Manage valid priorities and control priorities using appropriate tools i.e. MS Office programs. Perform all work in accordance with established departmental work instructions.

      What you'll bring:

      • Minimum of two (2) years of Production Scheduling experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment.
      • Familiarity with ERP systems strongly preferred
      • Intermediate to expert knowledge in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
      • Capability to prioritize and plan efficiently and effectively in an ever-changing customer service environment.
      • Flexibility within a diverse organization is a must; self-motivated, self-directed.
      • Ability to direct workflow and be an effective decision maker
      • Attention to detail; Organized; self driven, self-starter
      • Ability to develop processes.
      • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to handle multiple tasks accurately and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

      Within 3 months:

      • Complete any required training and immersion.
      • Have a good sense of the Safety culture.
      • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
      • Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.

      Within 6 months:

      • Be proficient in the scheduling portion of JD Edwards.
      • Understand all machinery capabilities in the Dallas Facility.
      • Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role.

      Within 12 months:

      • Be proficient in the scheduling portion of JD Edwards.
      • Drive efficiencies and enable ongoing optimization of production processes.
      • Be able to resolve issues quickly and safely.
      • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards and safety protocols.
