Overview

This position is responsible for operating and maintaining stations to assemble, align, and adjust fabricated parts, components, or units according to BASi and customer specifications, and follows established manufacturing procedures and policies. This position is responsible for completing the finished instruments and sub-assemblies.

Part Time - approximately 20 hours per week

Responsibilities
    Assemble mechanical and/or electrical assembly systems and products; install components, units, subassemblies, wiring, and assembly casing. These tasks might also require skills such as soldering, and uses hand tools, specialized tooling, power tooling and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble instruments
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, job orders, work instructions, and reports in order to determine material requirements and assembly instructions
  • Inspect and test wiring installations, assemblies and circuits for resistance factors and record results
  • Position, align, and adjust work pieces to facilitate assembly
  • Responsible for quality control. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to ensure all components meet tolerances, product specifications, and quality standards
  • May repair or refit parts or units that fail tests or tolerance levels
  • Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs), according to work instructions (WI), and BASi policies
  • Keeps daily assembly production records by use of Made to Manage (M2M) software
  • Maintains a safe, organized, and clean work area
  • Maintain all confidential information
  • Support and participate in other company initiatives as directed by management
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications

* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

* Basic arithmetic skills

* Basic computer skills

Other conditions:

  • This position requires frequent walking, standing for extended periods of time, sitting for extended periods of time, talking for extended periods of time, carrying items (maximum of 30 pounds), reaching while standing and general repetitive motions
  • Perform precision measuring
  • Manual dexterity is required for operating machinery and computers
  • Perform repetitive tasks
  • Normal manufacturing environment
  • Tool and machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including but no limited to; eye protection; and safety glasses.
  • Exposure to various materials and chemicals (including, but not limited to cardboard, Styrofoam, plastic, etc.)
  • The noise level is usually moderate
  • Varying temperatures

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
