Berkeley Lab is on the lookout for a Quantum Network Modeling and Simulation Developer to join our pioneering QUANT-NET project. If you are brimming with creativity and technical skills, this is your chance to dive into the cutting-edge world of quantum research.
This position will be at the forefront of crafting quantum network models and scalable applications, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in distributed quantum computing. You will play a pivotal role in achieving our goal of establishing a three-node quantum computing network between Berkeley Lab and UC Berkeley, connected via an entanglement swapping over optical fiber, all orchestrated by a quantum network protocol stack. Responsibilities will include implementing fundamental components of distributed quantum computing and quantum repeaters, such as teleporting a controlled-NOT gate between two distant trapped-ion nodes.
As part of our dynamic, multi-organization team, you'll be at the epicenter of R&D excellence- integrating the latest quantum control methods and simulation environments, rubbing shoulders with top-notch professors, scientists, engineers, and bright-eyed graduate students.
This role will focus on the simulation design and software development across a spectrum of areas, from quantum device modeling to distributed applications and network control planes. This is an opportunity to leave your mark on the future of quantum networking technology, surrounded by the best and brightest in the field.
