Job Description

This position will provide electrical/mechanical support to the Elgin, IL plant. Qualified candidates must have at least 3 years of maintenance experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This plant is a climate-controlled facility. The candidate must be a team player and be willing to share knowledge. The candidate will be required to work with all team members undertaking any, and all roles from leading a task to cleaning up after a task. A successful team member will have an extremely good work ethic, great punctuality, and attendance record. Must have solid computer knowledge and skills. Any electronics certifications a plus. This position is for 2nd Shift (3:00 pm - 11:00 pm) or 3rd Shift (11:00 pm - 7:00 am).

Additional $2.50/hr. premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

Basic Knowledge

  • Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical/electronic equipment used in the manufacturing process

  • Install, repair, and maintain Mechanical components used in the manufacturing process

  • Communicate effectively with team members, corporate engineering, vendors, and internal customers

  • Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to Operator and/or Manager.

  • Experience operating of forklifts, and MEWPs

  • Experienced with conduit bending, and wire sizing

  • Familiar Microsoft based computer systems

Minimum Requirements

  • 3-plus years electrical, and mechanical experience

  • Must be able to work any shift

  • Basic understanding of start/stop, latching, motor control, and emergency circuits.

  • Ability to troubleshoot, replace, HMIs and VFDs

  • Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics, vendor data, and perform preventative maintenance on various types of equipment

  • Basic knowledge and understanding in process control systems such as: temperature control, pressure control, flow control, and PID control loops

  • Working knowledge of machine tools: Lathes, Mills, and Drill presses

  • Basic knowledge of Welding, and sheet metal fabrication.

  • Basic knowledge of pipe fitting

  • Physical ability to climb, kneel, bend and work at elevations
