Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Viral Immunology

EMPLOYER: The laboratory of Dr. Amit Kapoor, Center for Vaccine and Immunity at Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH) and Ohio State University.

LOCATION: Columbus, Ohio, USA

SALARY: Based on NIH Post-doctoral stipend guidelines, benefits include family health insurance, matched retirement account

RESEARCH DESCRIPTION: The Kapoor lab is an NIH-funded lab whose research interests broadly focus on understanding host-virus interactions and immunopathogenesis. The lab studies virus evolution and immune subversion associated with chronic virus infections and uses animal models of acute and chronic virus infection and various vaccination strategies to define the nature of immunity required to avert or revert chronic virus infections.

We are looking to fill 2-3 postdoctoral fellows/scientists who are highly motivated individuals to drive these projects independently and explore additional but connected areas related to virus-host interaction and adaptive immunity. QUALIFICATIONS:

    Applicants must have an MD, Ph.D., or MD/PhD
  • Strong background in immunology and experience in advanced cellular and molecular immunology techniques, including multicolor flow cytometry and other relevant techniques.
  • Prior knowledge and practical experience in murine models of virus infection and conditional knockout mice.
  • Candidates should be capable of independently designing and carrying out high-level, complex research experiments.
  • Applicants with a good track record of publication, effective communication skills, and scientific writing skills are desirable.
