Position Description

You will manage component, supplies, and logistics to assure that daily production capacity planning is analyzed and schedules are maintained. You will use SAP and other resources to track requirements and work with the suppliers allowing on time delivery of components; thus on-time shipping performance to the customer. You will have the freedom to make decisions and job performance is critical to the daily operation of the plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule the production work areas by releasing production orders when all component needs have been satisfied, considering the time needed for support work cells.
  • Order all related materials, ensuring that inventory levels are minimal. Review all SAP material codes for pull in and push out logic. Review Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) MOQs, minimum lot sizes and lead time data parameters for accuracy.
  • Review all customer orders and their due dates to ensure customer satisfaction with well communicated delivery dates. If a delivery date cannot be met, communication back to customer service with the intendeddate is expected.
  • You will work with Corporate Purchasing, maximizing SAP in supporting customers, suppliers and inter-company transfer of parts. Will analyze all purchased item requirements from MRP which defines all current and future demand.
  • Work cooperatively with our Supplier Quality Engineering, Product Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering departments to assess the quality capabilities of all suppliers to ensure that all product/material purchases meet defined quality standards
  • Develop relationships with suppliers and customers and be in constant communications with them. Once approval has been obtained you will prepare material requisition and order using approved suppliers regarding the specification, quantities, pricing, due dates and the shipping information. This is part of your daily standard work.
  • Person will help develop a materials strategy that maximizes customer satisfaction and meets the established inventory targets. Works with Corporate Purchasing and suppliers on supplier delivery and/or quality issues and will advise the Materials Group of any impact on the customer delivery schedule.
  • Disposition of non-conforming, excess, and obsolete materials.
  • Responsible for inventory accuracy and works with production on a strategy to meet the customers changing demands.
  • Maintains purchasing records except pricing on both parts and supplier files.
  • Compile, submit, and communicate all changes in purchasing item documentation affecting the suppliers.
  • Disposition of non-conforming materials and obsolete materials.
  • Complete ECR (Engineering Change Request) as required for purchased items.
  • Actively involved with cycle counts and physical inventory.
Required Education & Qualifications
  • BS degree or comparable education in Engineering
  • Two (2) or more years' experience in capacity planning, Industrial Engineering, Materials etc. Experience with SAP is beneficial.
