2x10s 0630-1700 Days TBD. Call Required.

Job Summary:

In partnership with unit leadership, is responsible for the effective and efficient leadership of the assigned surgical service(s). Participates in decision making and problem solving to assure high quality patient care and surgeon satisfaction. Demonstrates organizing and coordinating skills. As an advanced practitioner demonstrates superior knowledge and expert practice while actively working in surgical procedures during their scheduled work hours. Serves as a role model. Assists the Surgeon, RN and the Anesthesiologist in the care of patients in the Operating Room. Assists in evaluation and acquisition of surgical equipment, instruments and supplies.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

A minimum of 2 years Surgical Technologist experience is required. Two years of surgical technologist experience in designated specialty is required to acquire level of expertise needed to perform the role.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Post high school education, certification or diploma required. Completion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of Military Operating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsored apprentice II program required.

TRAINING DESCRIPTION:

If practicing as a surgical assist successful completion of required surgical assist training.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in major operative surgical specialties is required. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of anatomy, physiology and potential complications for procedures performed is required. Expert knowledge of specialty instruments and equipment is required.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. Surgical Technologist certification is required. As of May 1, 2024 date, incumbent staff will have 6 months to complete certification.
