About the Job

The role of the Community Technology Intern is to assist the Design Management and Architecture team in all assigned duties throughout the design and construction process. The role will specifically focus on the project design of low-voltage items including access control, internet services, designing amenity spaces, and working with property management to coordinate items like smart building technology. The Community Technology Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside design consultants and visit construction sites.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the coordination of amenity layout and signage package in conjunction with Design Managers, Investment Management, and vendors.

  • Assist in reviewing different consultants' drawings to identify conflicts (e.g. architectural, interior design, MEP, landscape architect, etc.)

  • *Help track design deadlines for each project (inclusive of construction deadlines).

  • Assist in the coordination of door hardware for access control/security.

  • Opportunity to train and gain experience in industry software like Procore and Bluebeam.

  • Assist in Low Voltage (such as access control, audio-visual) design document plan review.

  • Assist in the coordination of fitness equipment standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements:
  • Pursuing Degree in programs associated with architecture, interior design, construction management, or similar.

  • A minimum of 2 years of college education.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Must possess a high level of professionalism, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
