Garver is seeking an experienced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modeler to join the Water and Wastewater Team. Candidates must have demonstrated CFD modeling experience for water and wastewater engineering applications. The right individual should have a strong desire to help build and expand Garver's CFD offerings. This role will be responsible for model setup, troubleshooting, evaluating, interpreting, and summarizing CFD model results in technical memoranda, reports, and presentations.
Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering discipline with a concentration in fluid mechanics (PhD preferred)
  • Experience in water and wastewater engineering, including treatment plant hydraulics
  • Experience using CFD software for water and wastewater (Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, FLOW-3D)
  • Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability and willingness to work with remote teams
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to become registered within six months of start of employment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with in-person and remote team members to identify CFD modeling needs.
  • Lead CFD evaluations on a variety of water and wastewater projects, including storage tanks, pump stations, splitter boxes, clarifiers, chlorine contact basins/clearwells, chemical injection and mixing, etc.
  • Interpret model results and prepare written reports.
  • Support development of presentations for both internal and external audiences.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and be responsible for time management and work product quality.
  • Limited travel to job sites and client meetings.
  • Support scope and fee development associated with CFD modeling.
  • Support business development activities, including client-specific presentations, proposals, and interviews.
