We are in search of a Catering Sales Manager to join our Grand team at our 1,300 acre Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. About the role

Join our Grand team as a Catering Sales Manager: responsible for soliciting new catering accounts, entertaining and maintaining relationships with existing accounts to meet and/or exceed food and beverage revenue goals.

What will you be doing?

* Manages the sales efforts for the property including weddings and social catering.

* Driven individual focused on achieving both team and individual success through the delivery of exceptional customer service

* Provides customer intelligence in evaluating the market trends that may lead to changes in strategy to meet or exceed client expectations.

* Solicit new and existing accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals through telephone solicitation, outside sales calls, site inspections and written communication.

* Responds to incoming catering opportunities for the resort.

* Work with other departments within the hotel to provide quality service to customers.

* Attend community/social events, industry meetings including joining local/national organizations.

* Develops and sells creative catered events

* Works with Culinary and Events team in the development of menus that drive sales.

* Knowledge of the wedding industry, current market trends and economic factors

* Provides detailed communication and internal tracking while working through the sales process with customer from the proposal process to contracting.

* Achieves catering revenue goals by actively up-selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue

* Interacts effectively with customers both external and internal to ensure team success

* Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.

* Required to maintain high personal guest contact via telephone and in-person.

* Ensure guest satisfaction by timely follow up correspondence.

* Maintain a high level of professional appearance, demeanor and image of self and hotel.

* Support and monitor cleanliness and safety issues when touring the hotel.

* Knowledge industry operating systems (Delphi FDC , Wedding Wire, The Knot)

* To be familiar with hotel banquet capacities, along with banquet, restaurant, front desk, and housekeeping procedures to sell and service accurately.

* To achieve quarterly booking goals.

* Meet or exceed weekly sales goals for telephone solicitation, site inspections, luncheons, and personal call.

* Delivers exemplary customer service to drive client/group satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and monitoring their satisfaction prior and during their event

What do you bring to the role?

* Previous sales experience for both corporate and social markets, including weddings, preferred.

* Minimum 2-3 years of previous catering sales experience

  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent inter-personal and sales related experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a timely manner.

* Professional demeanor

* Knowledge of food and beverage menus, food preparation and presentation.

  • Ability to act independently with minimal or no supervision.

* Experience in proactive selling.

* Working knowledge of banquets and other food & beverage operations.

* Experience in Chicago and Milwaukee markets preferred.

* Degree in hotel/restaurant/hospitality/event planning preferred but not required.

* Ability to think creatively and strategically.

* May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
