Why this job matters:
Perform rate validation for account renewals and new business. Perform associated monthly reporting on recertification and renewals. Prepare reports to support rating activities and ad hoc requests. Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of the Health Insurance Renewal explanation form in compliance with OHIC regulatory requirements.
What you will do:
- Perform renewal and new business rate quality review in compliance with approved OHIC rate and formula filings.
- Perform end-to-end data transfer validation of renewal and new business rates
- Validate onboarding documentation for all new business groups in accordance with corporate enrollment and participation requirements.
- Monitor and perform manual adjustments for small group rate cap and bundle discount agreements.
- Perform manual rating and distribution of ancillary plan product information.
- Provide rating and quoting support to internal and external business partners.
- Follow company guidelines to recertify small groups; reinstate cancelled groups that have satisfied the recertification requirements.
- Provide monthly audit support.
- Assist team with department initiatives and projects.
- Maintain assigned department policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you need to succeed:
- Associate's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- One to three years of experience in rating or statistical activities
- Working knowledge of Rhode Island Small Employer Health Insurance Availability Act and related Regulations
- General computer proficiency
- Good organization skills
- Detail oriented
- Ability to research and organize data
- Ability to organize work efficiently to meet established time and quality standards
- Ability to work successfully in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to take initiative in finding solutions to difficult and/or sensitive problems

Location:
BCBSRI is headquartered in downtown Providence, conveniently located near the train station and bus terminal. We actively support associate well-being and work/life balance and offer the following schedules, based on role:
- In-office: onsite 5 days per week
- Hybrid: onsite 2-4 days per week
- Remote: onsite 0-1 days per week. Permitted to reside in the following states, pending approval from the Human Resources Department: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia
