Construction Estimator

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Responsible for the accuracy, integrity and completion of estimates at a variety of phases to include but not be limited to design, conceptual, preconstruction, procurement and during construction.
  • Reviews drawings, prints, specifications, contracts, RFPs/RFQs and all other construction documents for estimate related activities. Provided responses to estimate needs as required.
  • Participates in the preparation of construction schedules, requests for information, project utilization plans, and general conditions and specifications.
  • Utilizes and administers to a variety of estimating means to include current market pricing, regionally specific pricing, labor usage and analysis and other pertinent financial and performance impacts to the estimate activities.
  • Obtain, maintain, and manage data, information, communications, and approvals required by project and company requirements between owner, architects, engineers, contractors/subcontractors, or other project related entities.
  • Coordinate, direct and monitor activities of contractors/subcontractors, engineers, architects and related performing entities to the specifications or conditions of the estimate.
  • Assist with, analyze and evaluate proposals from contractors, subcontractors and other entities.
  • Participate in project meetings to include documentation, administration, and tracking of relevant information and statuses.
  • Ensure contractor, architect, engineer, and provider contractual requirements on areas estimates, cost specifications and valuations. Participate in negotiations when applicable and necessary.
  • Support business development activities for pursuits, proposals, submittals and resources for cost and performance.
  • Provide all services and objectives for the application of Vanir's quality services.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in technical disciplines such as engineering, construction management, architecture, or equivalent technical area of study. 8+ years of experience in management of construction, engineering or architectural related projects.
    • Or, Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in business disciplines such as business administration, accounting/finance or management. 10+ years of experience in management of construction, engineering, or equivalent technical projects.
    • Or, non-degree holders must possess a High School Diploma/GED and 15+ years of experience of management on construction, engineering or architectural related projects with a plan to advance their education.
  • Registration as Architect, Engineer, and/or GC license is preferred.
  • Must possess knowledge and application of construction estimating, cost, project controls/scheduling, documentation, engineering and construction principles, techniques, materials, applications, and practices.
  • Understanding of contracts, documents, drawings, and specifications. Ability to use a variety of current take-off systems and instrumentation.
  • Applied, successful experience in the areas personnel interaction in professional settings.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products, and experience with cost and project related systems such as Prolog, Sure Track, and Primavera. Advanced programs in take-off and quantities are necessary.
  • Ability to represent Vanir and related entities in a professional manner at all times to ensure company policies and procedures as well as compliance to all applicable laws and regulations.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including education, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The Salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$135,000.00.
