Why do we need you ?

PCR Worcester is a $80M revenue facility, with close to 250 employees. It services a large number of industries with mostly made to order technical ceramic parts for high temperature operations.

The Plant Controller will be the right-hand partner of the Plant Manager of our Worcester manufacturing site, assisting them in driving the business forward. This role requires intensity, agility and aptitude to successfully manage multiple simultaneous priorities and projects to financially support a matrix of diverse customers. Focusing on continuous improvement of financial processes, and elimination of non-valued activities is key.

This position ensures that corporate and group financial procedures are followed and internal controls area in place.

Requirements:

  1. Plan, organize, and control all accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, and local tax activities of manufacturing plant in accordance with corporate financial policies and procedures.
  2. Ensure accurate accounting and reporting of the financial transactions and related analysis of the plant in a timely manner; alert management to trends and problems.
  3. Manage the timely completion of the month-end financial close, demonstrating awareness of all elements of a plant's financial statements.
  4. Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the plant level, oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory and assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests
  5. Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability - identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions quickly and accurately. Meet the needs of a complex, diverse, dynamic and fast paced organization that will pose a wide variety of challenges from a manufacturing level.

Is this job for you ?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent required, Master's Degree or MBA preferred
  • 5-8 Years experience as Plant Controller (Required)
  • Proficient use of SAP in a controlling environment (Required)
  • Experience in manufacturing environment accounting roles with a focus on cost accounting and Technical Variances
  • Ability to influence activities in various departments and plants without direct authority.
  • Yellow Belt or Green Belt Certification for Lean Manufacturing (Preferred)
  • Ability to communicate and work cross-functionally with teams
  • Use data-driven approach to problem-solving and loss identification at the plant.
