What You Will Contribute To Altos
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced cryo-electron microscopy (cryoEM) specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in both single-particle cryoEM and cryo-focused ion beam scanning electron microscopy (cryo FIB-SEM).

Responsibilities:
  • Perform sample preparation for both single-particle cryoEM and cryo FIB-SEM.
  • Operate and maintain cryoEM equipment.
  • Collect single-particle tomographic datasets.
  • Collaborate with other scientists to design and execute experiments.
  • Analyze and interpret cryoEM data.
  • Train and mentor junior staff and scientists in cryoEM techniques.
Who You Are Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the cryoEM field.
  • Extensive experience with sample preparation for both single-particle cryoEM and cryo FIB-SEM.
  • Familiarity with state-of-the-art software packages including cryoSPARC and Relion.
  • Current working knowledge of the software and hardware developments in cryoEM, and limitations of the technique.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

The salary range for Redwood City:

  • Research Specialist I: $136,850 - $185,150
  • Research Specialist II: $162,350 - $219,650

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
