Responsibilities:
- Perform sample preparation for both single-particle cryoEM and cryo FIB-SEM.
- Operate and maintain cryoEM equipment.
- Collect single-particle tomographic datasets.
- Collaborate with other scientists to design and execute experiments.
- Analyze and interpret cryoEM data.
- Train and mentor junior staff and scientists in cryoEM techniques.
- Ph.D. in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the cryoEM field.
- Extensive experience with sample preparation for both single-particle cryoEM and cryo FIB-SEM.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art software packages including cryoSPARC and Relion.
- Current working knowledge of the software and hardware developments in cryoEM, and limitations of the technique.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The salary range for Redwood City:
- Research Specialist I: $136,850 - $185,150
- Research Specialist II: $162,350 - $219,650
