The Department of Labor & Industry is seeking a motivated and driven individual to join our department as an Administrative Officer 1. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Administrative Officer 1 works under the direct supervision of the Division Chief of the Self-Insurance Division. Responsibilities include processing self-insurance applications, reports, and related documents, as well as handling Self-Insurance Guaranty Fund (SIGF) claims. Additionally, you will supervise clerical and management technician staff. The role involves participating in a team responsible for self-insurance applications and annual reports, overseeing SIGF case handling by the Third-Party Administrator, and maintaining an organized system to track open SIGF claims. The Administrative Officer 1 also plays a key role in claim discussions, mediation, and resolution, with authority for medical benefit payments up to $10,000 and claim settlements up to $25,000. You will be responsible for ensuring timely reimbursement from security companies and notify excess carriers of potential claims.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, upon satisfactory completion of training. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
