Position Summary:

Bimbo Bakeries seeks a proactive, detail-oriented individual who is passionate about data analysis for a vital role within the company. This position provides analytical support to the Bimbo Bakehouse Walmart / Sam's Club Sales Team, focusing on analyzing customer performance and suggesting improvements for both brand and customer strategies. The main duties of the Sales Analyst involve assisting the Bimbo Bakehouse Director of Sales with analysis of past and present business patterns, examination of competitor activities, and identification of prospective sales opportunities to drive sales growth. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in handling various customer data, extracting meaningful insights, and possessing the ability to convey complex information through effective storytelling. This role reports to the Director of Sales, Bimbo Bakehouse Walmart / Sam's Club Sales Team.

This job can be performed remotely.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, evaluate, and report sales data to assist in business planning, increase productivity, direct marketing initiatives, and support the forecast process.
  • Proactively analyze customer and category trends while understanding the impact of market intelligence, category competitors, promotional displays, and provide that insight to the sales team.
  • Manage and lead sales reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Actively participate and support the Line Review and Joint Business Planning process.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to both internal and external customers.
  • Support the development of templates and standardized processes for post-program reporting.
  • Drive new approaches to analyzing business results and trends; create ad hoc reporting for situational analysis, as needed.
  • Responsible for customer item setup/change forms

Position Requirements:

  • Proficient in analyzing data with a knack for translating insights into practical actions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Walmart's reporting tools, specifically Luminate and Retail Link.
  • Experienced in sales analytics within the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) sector.
  • Proactive and capable of thriving in a team-oriented, matrixed environment.
  • Autonomous worker with the skill to collaborate effectively with diverse teams as necessary.
  • Adaptable to rapid changes, with a strong inclination towards continuous improvement and a test-and-learn approach.
  • Excellent at planning and organizing, with a keen eye for detail and strong project management leadership.
  • Innovative thinker, proactive in proposing ideas and solutions, not merely executing orders.
  • Occasional travel, with an expectation of around 10% to meet customer and business needs.

Education and Work History:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 2-4 years in national customer roles with success in sales reporting, trade marketing, or CPG analytics.
  • Attributes: strong quantitative and analytical skills, problem-solving ability, organization, team-oriented, effective communication, focused on results, and committed to thorough follow-up and task completion.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Walmart Data Platforms (Luminate, Retail Link) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI experience a plus), Circana (previously IRI & NPD)
