Summary

The Associate Analyst - Division Order is an entry-level position that plays a crucial role in supporting division order activities related to the Partnership's crude oil marketing lease acquisition. The Division Order group, situated within the accounting organization, ensures accurate and timely payments for crude oil. As an Associate Analyst, you will assist with owner inquiries, review division order title documents, process ownership transfers, and maintain ownership records. Initially, you will collaborate closely with management and other analysts to learn the intricacies of the role. If you have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Ownership Deck Management:

  • Assist in setting up and maintaining division of interest ownership decks
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate ownership data

Division Order Document Analysis:

  • Review and analyze division order title documents, including pay sheets, deeds, assignments, wills/probate records, etc.
  • Work closely with owners and operators to ensure proper documentation is received

Exceptional Customer Service:

  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly researching and responding to owner inquiries.
  • Address owner discrepancies and issues in collaboration with relevant groups

Owner Account Setup and Payments:

  • Collaborate with appropriate teams to ensure correct setup of owner accounts.
  • Facilitate timely payments to owners

Division Order Contracts:

  • Prepare and distribute Division Order Contracts as needed

Royalty Hotline Support:

  • Assist and support the Royalty Hotline by handling owner relations phone calls and inquiries

Special Projects and Suspense Reporting:

  • Contribute to special projects and assist with suspense reporting when required

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To excel in this role, the following qualifications are essential:

  • Ability to Learn Division Order Skills: Willingness to acquire expertise in division order processes
  • Customer Service Orientation: A commitment to providing exceptional service to owners
  • Critical Thinking Skills: Attention to detail and the ability to resolve complex issues
  • Strong Work Ethic: A dedicated and proactive approach to tasks

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of prior experience in division order, land administration, or oil and gas operations

Skills and Abilities:
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in using division order software and Microsoft Office Suite
Understanding of legal documents and ownership structures
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

    Working Conditions:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    • Usually, normal office working conditions.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
    • Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
