Job Summary:
This position will be responsible for sewing previously cut fabric and leather for application to HOLLY HUNT furniture items. All stitching must meet the rigorous quality standards of HOLLY HUNT. This position will also be expected to create these quality products in a production environment.
Principal Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Sews product upholstery and leather using straight stitches and top stitches. All stitches must be "perfectly" straight and properly spaced. In addition, corners must be perpendicular, and angles must be accurate. Measure sewn upholstery and test fit the finished product to its matching frame. Measure the number of stitches per inch to maintain consistency from product to product. Perform simple preventive maintenance tasks on the sewing equipment, i.e. oiling and simple adjustments. Provide instruction to less experienced seamstresses. Assist the fabric/leather cutter as needed. Maintains sewing room area.
