Position Overview:The Senior Receiving Associate - Exceptions role provides assistance in helping resolve issues on incoming product from receiving. This role works closely with various departments (e.g. invoicing, customer returns, vendor returns and other areas of PDC) to complete the work.

This is considered an essential onsite role, which requires regular onsite attendance.

Hours: 5:00 AM-1:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities:
  • Open freight, scan packlist, verify parts and counts, input date and lot code, country of origin and tracking number, and receive into computer

  • Check incoming freight for quality, damage and quantity

  • Attach Inbound License Plate Number (iLPN) to tray or pallet and marry to the tray or pallet

  • Count and re-package incoming product from vendors, customers, etc.

  • Assist receiving reps with questions and problems with incoming product

  • Locate product in the event of misplacement

  • Notify reps and supervisors of errors made in the receiving process

  • Adjust Inventory and Purchase Order system to reflect actual quantities

  • Initiate nonconforming procedures

  • Actively participate as a team member in order to meet departmental goals

  • Work with Invoicing, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, Technical Support, Product Managers, Procurement team (Expeditors, Supplier Services Representatives, etc.) Customer Returns, Supplier Returns, Logistics, and Supplier Quality to resolve inventory issues

  • Communicates effectively and professionally in all interactions, written and verbal with team members and management

  • Gain greater expertise in all technical processes associated with exceptions resolution|prevention in the receiving function

  • Begin acting as a resource to other team members; assisting less experienced Associates and sharing information/experience pertaining to exception processing that could lead to more efficient/faster item resolutions

  • Other duties as assigned including but not limited to possible reallocation of efforts to other organizations per business need and management request.

  • May be cross trained into other PDC areas as needed

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Competent computer navigation and typing skills

  • Must be very detail-oriented and organized

  • Able to solve problems quickly and efficiently

  • Able to think critically and come to a resolution leveraging systems|tools and working across business units

  • Ability to provide a positive, professional and enthusiastic outlook or perspective

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task as well as the ability to change focus quickly based on requests by employees/management

  • Dependable, responsible contributor who can work both independently or as part of a team with limited supervision and committed to excellence and success

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English

  • Preferred: 1-2 years of receiving experience

  • Item Facilities

  • Radio Frequency device (future for mobile receiving)

  • Adjust iLPN

  • Content Navigator (FIleNet)

Physical Requirements:
  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body

  • Capable of spending 8-10 hours walking/standing on concrete

  • Routinely lift 5-10 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs and rarely up to 77+lbs (with assistance)

DigiKey offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and much more. As required by state-specific legislation in many states including California, Colorado, Nevada, and Washington, the base compensation starts at $18.50/hr for this position is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
