Summary of Job Duties:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

EVS Manager 40%

*Ensures flexibility in staffing model for skilled and semi-skilled workers (i.e. scheduling and duties, required to monitor all shift.)
*Provide support for tracking the preparation and review of the personnel evaluations
*Responsible for the coordination of administrative activities in line with the goals and/or objectives of the department and UAMS
*Works closely with associate and management staff to ensure all aspects of Safety, 8 Step DIRFT cleaning procedure, infection control manual, exposure control plan, etc. is in place and running smoothly according to plan and performance/compliance standards.
*Handles complaints received from building area, such as room temperatures, equipment breakdown, partially cleaned offices, and unsafe facilities.
*Maintains and compiles information, such as inventory of equipment and supplies, job status reports, and budget documentation.
*Attends staff meetings with agency / institution departmental personnel and make recommendations on new policies and/or procedures.
*Assesses associate proficiencies and providing guidance.
*Conducts rounds as necessary with associate staff in order to assess strengths and/or weaknesses in the program and maintain or correct as needed. Use these quality rounds to determine areas requiring quality management control.

Manager of Operations 50%

*Assists in managing the department's operating budget by tracking overtime hours of the supervisory and associate staff, evaluating, and justifying supply and equipment purchases, and generating supporting financial reports needed.
*Assists with developing strategic plans to meet the changing needs of the assigned department.
*Develops and implements programs that support the goals of the department. Assists with process improvement initiatives and promotes new methods to improve overall performance.
*Leads training and development initiatives and provides direction to supervisory and non-supervisory staff. Ensures the staff is properly trained at all levels and that supervisory staff meet all annual training compliance standards.
*Manages, supervises, and evaluates supervisory staff in support of departmental goals, mission, and vision. Maintains responsibility for establishing long and short-term goals for employees and the subsequent development of plans and procedures to achieve them.
*Ensures medical equipment is kept in compliance through the use of an outside vendor.
*Manages TMA ticketing system for entire Campus Ops team.
*Works to ensure FM Space is kept up to date and aligned with the UAMS standards.


Other Duties as Assigned 10%Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications (Essential for the job - the applicant must possess at the time of hire)

Education, general:

Bachelor's degree plus 2 years experience with (1) or more years of supervisory experience

Licenses, certificates, or registration

Valid driver's license required.

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

  • Knowledge of the methods and techniques of building, equipment, and grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to plan and schedule work activities of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
  • Ability to determine building, equipment and grounds maintenance needs.
  • Ability to maintain records and compile information for reports.
  • Ability to be a reliable self-starter who regularly sets and achieves work goals.
  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Physical Requirements

Bend, lift, push, pull, carry weight: 26 - 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications (Non-essential for the job -the applicant may possess at the time of hire)

bachelor's degree in business administration, office administration, or a related field; plus one year of environmental services supervisory experience

Education, special or professional:

This position: Ability to follow oral instruction, read, write, and must have an excellent customer service attitude.

Experience, length in years and kind:

Five years of experience in maintenance activities or related area, including one year in a supervisory capacity.

Licenses, certificates, or registration

Valid driver's license required.

Special knowledge, abilities and skills:

Knowledge of the methods and techniques of building, equipment, and grounds maintenance.

Ability to plan and schedule work activities of skilled and semi-skilled workers.

Ability to determine building, equipment and grounds maintenance needs.
