Georgia-Pacific Recycling is seeking a Recycling Sales Representative who embodies an entrepreneurial mindset and thrives in managing their territory like their own business. With a focus on new business development, you will have the chance to create and maintain a robust pipeline of potential opportunities through various channels. Building strong customer relationships and actively seeking growth opportunities will be at the forefront of your responsibilities. As a liaison between our customers and our capabilities at GP, you will play a crucial role in ensuring customer needs are met and industry trends are identified. Surrounded by a team and a larger organization of sales professionals, you will have the support you need to excel in your role.

Location: This is a hybrid role with travel. We are seeking candidates in close proximity to the following cities: Green Bay, WI, Milwaukee, WI, and Chicago, IL.


Our Team

We are seeking a Recycling Sales Representative who will be a vital member of our dynamic GP Recycling Team. This Recycling Sales Representative will bring a hunger for sales and an entrepreneurial mindset to our fast-paced environment. They will report to the Director of Internal Business.


What You Will Do

  • Drive new business development by actively managing your territory, utilizing prospecting, networking, marketing leads, and other sources to generate profitable growth opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional sales calls, follow-ups, and a consultative, problem-solving approach
  • Proactively manage customer base and prospects to ensure their needs are understood and met
  • Stay informed about industry trends and analyze market conditions, including competitor research, customer forecast analysis, cost models, and collaboration with internal and external operations teams
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network, build relationships, and stay updated on the latest developments in the recycling industry
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and CRM tools such as Microsoft Dynamics for effective communication and organization
  • Maintain sales pipeline, monthly forecasts, account profiles, competitive analysis, account strategies, pricing data, and accounts receivable/payable for assigned accounts
  • Identify and contact prospective clients through inbound leads and cold calling/emailing strategies
  • Collaborate with the customer service team and other GP Capabilities to ensure smooth order fulfillment, address customer inquiries, and resolve any issues or concerns promptly and effectively

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • 2+ years of Account Management or Business Development experience
  • Experience managing long-term customer relationships
  • Excel experience (creating spreadsheets, tracking and analyzing data, and creating formulas)
  • Experience using a CRM system
  • Willing and able to travel 25-50% (including some overnight)

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Wastepaper experience
  • Completion of a sales training program or internship
  • Industry experience in packaging, printing, or manufacturing
  • Expertise in maintaining and organizing a sales pipeline aimed at generating new business and expanding partnerships with existing customers
  • Experience presenting to leaders and high-level executives
  • Experience negotiating and closing deals
